Kinesthetic intelligence and intellectual function, the combination works wonders! – 17/07/2018

Our third week at the Kinesthetic Intelligence seminar was completed, which at this stage involved performing a cycle of Yoga practices designed and operated by registered Hatha and Raja Yoga Instructor (500H) by Yoga Alliance (USA) and Yoga Alliance International (INDIAN), Georgios Nastos, with the support of registered Hatha Yoga Instructor (200H) by Yoga Alliance (USA) and Yoga Alliance International (INDIAN), Sophia Koutelida as his teaching assistant. The content of the project, unique in its kind in Greece, is an innovation in terms of design and execution, and can become a human resources development tool for companies and institutions. To this end Creators of Cosmos will provide a series of newsletters detailing the structure, content and targeting of the educational modules. This newsletter presents the sixth, seventh, and eighth practices. The eighth practice was also the last of this training cycle, prior to the execution of the Kinesthetic Intelligence workshop, which will take place on July 19th and 20th, 2018.

6th Practice

The sixth practice focused in Back Bends and Forward Bends. On a psychodynamic level, back bends offer the practitioners the opportunity to embrace life, to be present in a “right here – right now” mentality, to deepen and grow their breath capacity and to boost their self-esteem. On the contrary forward bends encourage self-reflection, introspection, are calming the mind, relaxing the whole body, releasing any physical tensions. Following the practice, a feedback cycle was held with participants, allowing them to exchange personal views related to their experiences.

The practitioners had the opportunity to focus more and deepen each posture separately, by repeating most of the postures used in each of the previous practices. The practitioners also had the opportunity to experience dynamic postures through the back bends, to activate the 4th energy center the Anakhat Chakra, the Heart Chakra. Strengthen the back muscles, strengthen the spine muscles, function the abdominal muscles and experience better blood circulation. In addition, forward bends offered a great massage in the intra-abdominal organs, especially the liver, kidneys, pancreas, abdomen, and intestines.

7th Practice

The seventh practice focused on the seated and supine twists, as well as in mental relaxation and deep relaxation techniques, using breathwork (Pranayama) and Nidra Yoga. Emphasis was given to active the first energy center of the body, the Mulandhara chakra, as this is well connected with most of supine twist postures, precisely because they have an impact on overall health and vitality. Supine twists make the spinal cord more flexible, thus ‘younger’ and healthier, and also detox the body. Following the practice, a feedback cycle was held with participants, allowing them to exchange personal views related to their experiences.

8th Practice

The eighth practice, the last one, was essentially a complete Hatha Yoga / Hatha Flow practice. It was a combination of all the previous seven practices in one. On the psychodynamic level, practitioners had the opportunity to experience two (2) Salutations to the Sun and two (2) Salutations to the Moon. Vibration was also used for the first time in the practice of reciting the OM mantra. Following the practice, a feedback cycle was held with participants, allowing them to exchange personal views related to their experiences.

Practitioners had the opportunity to experience a complete Yoga lesson and to understand the transition from one stage to another (strengthening, stretching, balance, support, breathing, folding, relaxation). On psychodynamic level, practitioners had the opportunity to activate the 4th and 5th energy centers, the Anahat chakra, the Chakra of the heart, love and the Vishudha Chakra, the center of expression and creativity. Practitioners had the opportunity to connect with the first universal sound of Creation, OM, to recognize the divine within them, around them, in the form of sound.

The seminar is conducted in the Municipal Market of Kypseli, the new “home” of Creators of Cosmos, that was because Impact Hub, as managing authority selected us to be hosted in the building, as they considered our proposal to fulfill the criteria set. That is to say the person/environment is at the center of the company’s scope, ensuring at the same time a sustainable development plan.
